Join Arizona Counselors Association for a Coffee Break Networking opportunity.  Our informative sessions allow you to network with counseling professionals and earn a CE credit hour while taking a coffee break.

Unveiling the Curtain of AzBBHE – Presented by Tobi Zavala, AzBBHE Executive Director

This presentation is intended to provide an overview of the Arizona Board of Behavioral Health Examiners mission, composition and various functions. The presentation specifically aims to address three key topics including: a. an overview of the board, b. information on becoming independently licensed, c. review and discussion on new rules, laws and changes. 

Tobi Zavala was appointed Executive Director in 2014. Ms. Zavala was hired by the Board in 2010 and prior to her recent appointment, she served as Interim Executive Director, Deputy Director, Assistant Director and Compliance Officer. She also serves as the executive director representative for the American Association of State Counseling Boards. She is a graduate of Arizona State University where she received a bachelor of social work.  Tobi’s goals for AzBBHE are to maintain the safety and welfare of the public, ensure applicants and licensees are treated fairly and equitably, and monitor behavioral health and licensing trends to keep the board aligned with federal and national standards. Tobi’s passion is to ensure that the AzBBHE strives for continual improvement in board operations and she’s committed to enhancing processes and procedures, while maintaining the integrity the regulated community has come to expect.

The Arizona Counselors Association is an NBCC-Approved CE Provider. Participants can earn 1 CE for this event.
